Melanie Guardino?

My name is Melanie Guardino, and I am the founder and creator of Mellina &
Company S.r.l. I was born and raised in New York, but currently live in Florence,
Italy. I am a recent graduate of The Fashion Institute of Technology and majored in
Fashion Merchandising Management.

The true beginning of my life in Florence, Italy started when I studied abroad there
at Polimoda in 2008. While studying there I lived with Italians and began to become
fluent in Italian as well as assimilated with the culture. While attending Polimoda
I went to many fashion houses corporate headquarters, as well as, trade shows all
throughout Italy. From the moment I was there I was inspired, and decided I wanted
to work the following summer in Florence, Italy.

I found a job at luxury glove company, Guanti Giglio, and continued to learn the
language throughout the summer. I always dreamed about starting my own
company and to live in Florence, Italy so as soon as I finished my Bachelors Degree
at The Fashion Institute of Technology, in May 2010, I packed my life up and headed
back to Florence.

Networking with the people that I connected with throughout college as well as
using all of the resources I learned in school I began to create Mellina & Co S.r.l.
Mellina & Co S.r.l was created to give Mellina’s target customer a “unique” product
at a price point that is affordable and attainable. Mellina & Co S.r.l will only sell
limited amounts of every style, and will constantly be updating its assortment mix.
Allowing Mellina’s customer to constantly find new merchandise to add to their
shopping carts.

Mellina has one designer that makes all of the merchandise by hand in Florence,
Italy, as well as, Mellina, who travels all over the world to find the trendiest pieces
that her Moda-ista’s can’t resist.
